Not strictly true, the issue is with OpenTransport. If you can get 1.1.3 or
greater installed on your 7.5 machine then Beta2 will run. The trouble is most
of the post 1.1.3 installers will refuse to work on 7.5.3. I have seen a
work-around (it involves altering some resources in the installer) or you can
just copy the relevant extensions from another, post 1.1.3, machine. Of course
a much easier way would be to use the latest version (see below) which will
work with all versions of OT from 1.1.1 upwards.
(BTW: There is absolutely no good reason for the 1.1.3 limitation. I made the
error of believing some of the Apple Documentation (see list passim))

Beta3 is available from http://www.uk.research.att.com/~cim/unofficial
The reason this hasn't been released yet is that I've been working to make
it as stable as possible on all my test machines (A 7.5.3 Centris 650, a
7.5.3 6200 (the slowest PPC in the world), an 8.5 233MHz G3 and an 8.6 450MHz
G3).
I can happily say that, at the moment, every thing seems to be fine (to a first
approximation). So, baring any total catastrophes, it should will be released
very soon.
I urge any one who is using Beta3 and is having difficulties to write and tell
me, preferably with specifics. ("It's unstable" or "it crashes" aren't the most
useful of comments :-) ) I can't test all the wacky combinations of machine/
extension set/ network type/ display size/ OS that are out there, so, as with
any beta level software, I'm relying on you, the users, to identify problems.
Cheers
