Thank you! Other users like myself may have missed the possibility here, 
that you can use a java-enabled browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer, 
Opera, ...) as your VNC viewer! It works great'! See documentation page
for "VNCviewer for Java" for more info. (I missed it before, because I
wasn't looking for java specifically!)

}If you're dialling in, then the java client (web browser) isn't noticably slower and you get your own cursor on top of whatever you're viewing:  Just type http://servername:5800/ into your browser.
