I'll give it a try:

open the TCP/IP Control Panel, be sure you are in Advanced User Mode (may be
modified via the menu Usermode)
click Options button and change the settings to load at startup

done

P.S. I am using the German version of MacOs 8.6, so the translation of the
mentioned menus may be slightly wrong
