Web client question

The reason it's 8080 is because i am going through a firewall that has a lot
of blocked ports (most of them) and 8080 is open (for proxy/web access
reasons)
i'm just trying to understand how I can use the java enabled browser to
remote display using WinVNC

I can't say, but why 8080? Isn't that a common proxy port? Shouldn't you
pick
something less used?
