hi *,

i've found a compiled version of vnc for rm-machines but i can't handle the start.

To start the server i can not use the pearl script because pearl is not installed.

Now i've written a start file for Xvnc.

./Xvnc :1 -ac -co /usr/lib/X11/rgb -fp /usr/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/,/usr/lib/X11/f
nts/misc/,/usr/lib/X11/fonts/sni/ -query t1inccli -class Tele -geometry 1024x768
 -depth 8 -rfbport 5901 -rfbwait 120000 -httpd /opt/lib/tele/vnc/classes -httppo
rt 5801 -desktop t1inccli -alwaysshared

After the start of the file i get the follwing output:

tele "at" t1inccli/276 % ./startvnc.txt
_XSERVTransNAMEDOpenServer: fattach(/dev/X/Nserver.1) failed, errno=1
_XSERVTransOpen: transport open failed for named/t1inccli:1
_XSERVTransMakeAllCOTSServerListeners: failed to open listener for named
_XSERVTransISCOpenServer: failed to open /dev/spx
_XSERVTransOpen: transport open failed for isc/t1inccli:1
_XSERVTransMakeAllCOTSServerListeners: failed to open listener for isc
_XSERVTransOpen: transport open failed for sco/t1inccli:1
_XSERVTransMakeAllCOTSServerListeners: failed to open listener for sco

I think it's not that bad.

Now i start my windows viewer.
As Server name I'm using t1inccli:0.0

Then i get a failure message as follows:
Failed to connect to server

What is the problem? Is the start file not correct? What is the meaning of switch -ac in the startfile?
Is vnc writing any logfiles to get more information about the Problem?

thanks stefan
