Check that you have the default settings in place, as well as the current
user for that machine. If this doesn't seem to work, try to uninstall and
reinstall, as this only takes a few seconds. Other than that, are you sure
that the VNC service is running ?

Subject: I am trying to get WinVNC to work on a Win 2k box
I have succesfully loaded VNC on the server.
The IP address and DNS entries are correct.
I can connect to other NT & Win2k machines without incident
This machine will not allow me to connect.
I can try the host name, the fully qualified domain name and the ip address
along with the port number. With no port number specified I get the error:
"Connection Closed" (this implies port #: 5900). When I specify a port # IE
:2 I get the error: "Failed to connect to server". If I give the server a
password I get to the password screen, however once I put in the password
and press OK I get the "Connection Closed" error.
I have set up VNC on multiple machines in my lab and I have had no issues
with any of them until now. Does anyone know what the problem is?
