We've been able to provide a similar ability by assigning random passwords
to WinVNC and having the user change the password to something while on the
phone with our helpdesk. This prevents people from connecting without the
user knowing.

Obvious problems would be that you can't connect to a workstation without
someone being there. So no remote unattended administration can be done.

Not a perfect solution... just an idea.

Im am very interested in using VNC for remote control. I help manage a LAN
that support 600 users at 5 locations. I have tested it and it works great
for what I need. The only problem that I have is that the VP wants the
station that is going to be taken over to have to give permission first.
For
example, he wants them to click allow or disallow before being remote
controlled. Or he wants it to give the user a message that they have been
taken over. I can not find anything on this. Can anyone help?

Thanks
