X resources are not at all like Win32 (Windows) resources; aside from the
fact that you can't examine another programs' resources, the absence of a
cursor resource does not mean there is no special cursor, but only that the
'default' is used (which could be anything).

What is more, standard X calls don't support any mechanism to get the
current cursor, whether it's a 'standard' cursor or a custom cursor.

However, I do not know if some of the extensions (such as XTrap) provide the
capability, but a quick perusal of the header files on my Sun Solaris system
did not turn up anything useful.
