   I've been using 'WinGate' on my Win95 machine for years in order to
connect my home's PCs and Mac to the internet via both modem and ADSL. 
WinGate works fine with VNC. I do have to do a one-time set up of
protocol mapping.  I'm sure there is other software, probably much
better than WinGate, that will allow you to gateway VNC to the Internet
via your LAN.
