color problems with vnc

(sorry if this has been covered -- I stopped reading the mailing list
archive after about 25 messages covering color issues.)

I am getting a lot of color problems in my logs and rxvt won't start up
with the errors:

rxvt: can't load color "Black"
rxvt: can't load color "Black"
rxvt: aborting

I think it because it 
 	Couldn't open RGB_DB '/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb.txt'

I am using Debian 2.1 Linux -- and I can't sem to be able to find any RBG
database other than the flat text file.

Any Ideas?

here is some info from my vnc.conf file:
$depth = "24";
**I also tried $depth = "16";
$colorPath = "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb.txt";

this rgb.txt does have all the colors I am having problems with.
