Dual-processor NT makes vncviewer hang?

 I've tried 2 different workstations with dual processors.  Machine a)
had a bunch of applications in the background, so it took only a few
seconds to hang vncviewer.  The viewer window is not updated any more
and the cursor takes the shape of a little dot as in read only mode.
This happens also with only 1 connection, but you can force the hang
up with more connections at the same time.  I don't know where to
search further. 

 I've tried to assign the vncviewer to a selected CPU only, but with
no success.  Another couple of workstations go well as expected with
with GPLed software ...    :-)
