Problems with Windows98SE

I just joined the list and haven't been able find anything about this
problem in 
back issues of the mailing list.

Since I'm running a network and stalled Win98SE(was using another NAT
software
package before) now that I'm running Win98SE when I have my sharing turn on
I can
not connect to my PC from the net(running Cable modem, and yes I'm working
on a
Linux box to place between the Net and the rest of the PC's.). I was able to
found out
about this the other day buy turning off the Sharing. I thought my works
network was 
filtering out 5800 ports.(using IE4).

Anyone know how to fix this and allow the network to run?
