hi!
thanks for the help! unfortunately i still don't get the xserver to
connect
from the logs:
xrdb: Can't open display 'linus:'
xsetroot: unable to open display 'linus:'
kwm: cannot connect to X server linus:
Warning: This program is an suid-root program or is being run by the
root user.
The full text of the error or warning message cannot be safely formatted
in this environment. You may get a more descriptive message by running
the
program as a non-root user or by removing the suid bit on the
executable.

Have you tried the new 3.3.3 release? This should have been one of the
problems we fixed (it's a bug in perl 5.005_02 which needs to be worked
around).
