Click-to-control mouse/keyboard for collaboration

I recently used NetMeeting with a colleague to edit a document
and noticed one nice feature that ought to be relatively easy to
put into VNC.  While collaborating, the mouse does not affect
the server's mouse until you click.  If you move the mouse, a
small annotation is displayed near the curse telling you to
click to take over control.  This was very nice for the two of
us since we could move the mouse out of the window to click on
other applications on the desktop without blasting the other
guy.  I suspect with more than two people, this would become
disproportionately valuable.
