I thought of that too :)....unfortuantly it would require making additions
to the RFB protocol :/

I've been thinking for a while of adding a message like "rfbx" then have the
client send a list of extra features like on the fly notifications of frame
buffer dimension changes, hdd activity that it supports and would like to
listen for.
Currently VNC clients won't handle unknown messages.  I've also put in my
VNCControl, the ability to send and receieve non text clipboard items (the
foundations are there - it doesn't work yet cause it's not in the RFB
protocol) - I think receiving a bitmap in the clipboard would be rather easy
to implement since VNC already does graphics pretty well :).
Eventually, sound over RFB (maybe it needs to use a different port all
together) would be quite neat (pointless - but neat ;)).
