I downloaded the most recent versions of VNC for both Windows and Macintosh
from the VNC Web site. I have successfully used both the server and viewer
on Windows machines. The server is running on a Pentium Pro 200 with
Windows 95. I have tried to connect to this server from the Macintosh
viewer without success. The Macintosh viewer is running on the following
machine:
Power Mac G4 400 MHz
192MB Memory
Mac OS 9
Thread Manager 2.1.5
Open Transport 2.5.2
I get the following message when I try to connect to the Windows server:
An Event or Error Has Occurred
Connection Name:"bobu:0"
Reason:"Notifier:T_DNRSTRINGTOADDRCOMPLETE result
-3170"
I have read the FAQ and searched the mail list archives at the VNC Web site
and have not found any information on this issue. I have tried a number of
different combinations for the settings on the viewer and get the same
result in each case. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
