Subject: Re: VNC properties quit session - VNC speed
- ----- Original Message ----- Hallo,
fist off all - vnc is a great tool and I only have 2 problems.
1.Vnc session closes immediately
- - on right click to vnc taskbar
- - on pressing ok from the properties the
- - on logoff
- - on login
This problem is on a NT 4 (VNC 333R1) with 800x600, 75Hz and
32768
colors.
- ---
VNC 3.3.3R1 has some bugs involving the Properties dialog -
upgrade to
3.3.3R2.
As for disconnects on logon/logoff, check that the Default and
User port
number settings match, and that the display settings haven't
been changed
since the last reboot of the system.
- ---
A second machine with NT4 (VNC 333R2) with 800x600, 72Hz and 256
colors
has no problem.
On this machine it is possible to log off and login again
without
closing the session.
2.How do I set up the most speed?
I have nothing marked on the update handling and it seems to be
the
fastest.
But some windows, e.g. properties from printers won't be
updated.
What can I do against this?
- ---
Hmmm. Tricky. Have you tried clicking in the Printer
Properties' dialog's
titlebar? Generally, avoiding polling settings wherever
possible will make
things fastest.
Thanks
Clicking in the invisible titlebar or a little bit moving does help.
I did upgrade to 333R2 to. This did solve the 3 problems=20
1.Vnc session closes immediately
- - on right click to vnc taskbar
- - on pressing ok from the properties the
- - on login
=20
But still logoff does quit the connection on the upgraded machine to
333R2.
This server is identical (hardware and screen resolution) to the second
one.
I did uninstall and removed the registry keys, but on installing as
service I got ... could not install ....
After rebooting the service did run.
How do I make a 100% clean uninstall???
Cheers,
James "Wez" Weatherall
