In addition, it specifically mentions (in claim #1), that a
single number needs to be used to transfer X,Y coordinates, and
that the number should be computed using a specific formula.
I guess that using a different formula would be enough to get
VNC "off the patent hook".

At least, this patent seems more specific and less silly than the
Y2K windowing patent that some crank is pursuing.

IMHO, obviously.
