Hi,
i know this is an x-server problem and not vnc-specific, but i feel that
here are the people who can help as well as those who might want to know....

I start a vncserver on lx1:1, I can connect with my viewer, everything is
ok.
I can add more programs "from outside" (e.g. from the console on lx1), by
giving the explicit display: "xterm -display lx1:1". Okay so far.

NOW I want to connect to this same Xvnc from another machine "lx2" by giving
this same command "xterm -display lx1:1" This fails (naturally) due to lack
of permissions. The message on lx2 is:

Xlib: connection to "lx1:1.0" refused by server
Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server
xterm Xt error: Can't open display: lx1:1

the log on lx1 is:
AUDIT: Thu Nov 11 14:22:17 1999: 8141 Xvnc: client 1 rejected from IP
xx.xx.xx.xx port 1756

I happened to have messages like these on other x-servers as well, so I
suppose this is the normal and wanted (secure) behaviour. But where can I
set these permissions to succeed with what i want? And it would be nice when
this problem could be solved for ANY x-windows system including "kde".

any help appreciated
thanks in advance
Hardy
