VNC on serial port

I am new of VNC, but I find it excellent. I am also looking for something
simpler : a client control on a server through a straight serial port. I
suppose that if you can get control through a TCP/IP stack, you can also do
through a port, but I am no programmer and I cannot handle the source code,
so I am here to ask if anybody did before.
(Why all this? just to configure a keyboardless and displayless black
box...)
