Are you sure this isn't the old "VNC drops on resolution change" again? 
If your NT account has the desktop set to a different resolution than the
log in screen, VNC disconnects when the resolution is reset.  Actually, it
isn't an NT issue, it is a VNC issue, because it does it on any platform
I've used. (Mac, Win95/98)
