You probably want an x-windows server, right? If you have a Linux box
on which you want to run an x-term, and you're sitting in front of a
Win95 machine, you run the server on the Win95 machine and xterm (the
client) on the Linux box. (Yes, it makes sense, but it's also
backwards.)
There's a very good server called xdemo. I don't remember where I got
it, but the beauty of it is that it runs while everything else is
running, and uses Win95 (or Win98) as the window manager. So your
xterm will be just another Win95 window, along with, say, WordPerfect
and Netscape running locally. or for that matter, you can run VNC and
also an xterm.
