Yes, this is a known problem. I only just the other day found the
solution....

thanks to Graham, this simple solution works well:
The default setting for Client Access's mapping of the
keypad is arrow/directional keys. Remap those 10 keys (0-9 and .)
to be 0-9 and . not the directions.
Not sure why the numlock seems to be ignored after running VNC,
but as Graham suggests, maybe it's a non-32bit issue.
Works for me, so I'm happy.
