Only text VNC window?

Hello everybody,

I use VNC mainly to maintain/monitorize remote systems. In most cases i
use a small desktop on UNIX servers where I display only an xterm window.
I think the connection could be much faster if text was sent through
instead of bitmaps. I know I could use telnet instead, but I want to be
able to connect to the VNC server and continue work exactly were I left it
beafore or continue monitoring a log file or whatever at the exact point I
left it last time.

	Unfortunately my programing skills are not enough to try and get
something like this... but I think it could be easily done. Am I wrong? Is
there anyone interested in something similar? Would it be possible to
include such possibility in the official VNC distro?
