VNC'ers:
Win 9x / NT:
Install shield seems to have the following options ( from my
non-scientific
testing)
setup -r : records the options that you select into a
setup.iss file that
will be in either your %systemroot% or in the install
directory
setup -s : runs the install in Silent mode. If you want
to specify the
setup.iss to answer the questions you would use the
following syntax:
setup -s c:\setup.iss
Result codes: If your auto install fails, there will be a
setup.log file in
the installation directory. I did not find an exact
reference for the
errors but this is what seems to be correct:
result code = -5 : could not find the setup.iss file
result code = -12 : something in the setup.iss file is not
correct ( a
question was not answered or was answered incorrectly )
I am not sure what the -i option does. Anyone have a list
of the
InstallShield command line switches ?
-Joe

Apparently InstallShield has features to do this, via a -i
command-line
option, which creates a log of an install which you can then
replay on
other machines.
I've never tried this, though - it just can up on the list
so perhaps a
search on the mailing list archives would help?
