I'm interested in using VNC or something like it to remotely execute
applications in the same way that is possible with X-windows in a way
that won't interfere with the local usage of the workstation.  In other
words, I'm interested in using the server in the background.  I
understand that WinCenter offers this technology but it's pricey, and
I'm wondering whether VNC can or will sometime soon offer this ability.
