Greetings.
Subject [Q] Help, my KOREAN characters are broken ...
] I installed VNC server on my PC ( WINDOWs 95)
] and run VNC viewer on my SUN Sparc workstation..
]
] I wanted to work on the several terminals on the Workstation
] with watching(?) the word-processing documents in the PC.
]
] But, I found that my KOREAN characters are broken as soon as I typed it.
]
] 1 korean character has finished after 3 typing..
It seems problem of NLS key handling. This problem also
happen here, hanlding japanese NLS key.
In VNC protocol, key event is once convered to X's keysym
and send to server. But for NLS keys,
1. vncviewer cannot map some NLS key to X keysym.
2. WinVNC does not recongnize X keysym for NLS keys.
] But one of my fellow in this office,
] she installed VNC server on the linux, and run VNC viewer on the PC windows95.
] But she doesn't have this problem...
Because Xvnc (VNC server on LINUX) knows all X keysym for korean NLS,
and usually, X based program works without NLS keys.
] I don't know how can i fix it..
Perfect solution is to patch viwer/server to recognize NLS keys.
Or, if you only need to send some (korean) characters to server,
use cut & paste (which I used to enter Japanese to WinVNC).
