I am trying VNC for the first time on Linux. when i execute the vncserver I
am returned a message that says "You will require a password to view your
desktops" Then it tries to open the vncpasswd app so that I can set my
first password but it says it can't execute it.

screen says

bash: /usr/bin/vncpasswd: /usr/bin/vncpasswd: can't execute binary file

Like I said this is my first time trying to run the vncserver and my first
install and I'm new to this whole UNIX thing. so any help/ideas appreciated.

Thanks,

Charlie
