I managed to get rid of the fixed font error, so much thanx to those
who helped me.
I am still not able to get rid of the grey screen with only a cursor.
I am using KDE desktop and I changed the xstartup script to read as
follows
xrdb $HOME/,Xresources
startkde
in the vncserver script the only change I made was
# Add font path and color database stuff here, e.g.:
#
$cmd .= " -fp /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/";
$cmd .= " -co /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb";
#
w/ this config,
I get the following error
sh: //usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/: is a directory
_X11TransSocketINETConnect: Cant connect:errno=111
if I change the 'startkde' to 'kdm' I only get the
"usr/....../75dpi/: is a directory" error in the log.
but still no display...only a grey screen....any idea???
I am at a loss.
once again any help would be greatly appreciated.
