I have installed VNC on an Alpha running Digital UNIX V4.0D (Rev. 878). I have
installed the viewer on my Thinkpad running NT.
Now when I connect the viewer to the server I get what looks like the correct
picture but when I press a key on the keyboard I get quite the wrong character.
For instance if I press the carriage return key the terminal window shows the
number 5. Typing qwe gets 3v2, pressing shift results in 1~ and sounds the bell
This happens with the precompiled binary and also after I have compiled the
programs. I suspect a library problem but don't know what to look for. When I
compiled Xvnc the first time I was sure that I saw an error message fly past on
my terminal saying something about a function prototype not matching the
expected prototype. Unfortunately when I recompiled with capture on I was
unable to find it.
We have used VNC to connect to NT servers and are are very impressed so I think
that the problem must be specific to Digital Unix or the libraries.
Any pointers would be welcome,
