vnc for linux

Ever since Redhat 5.2 I have been unable to run the vncserver
successfully on linux.  My machine is a P1-266 with 128mb ram.  I run
vncserver, the processes start, but immediately they die.  I have
followed the install procedures recomended in the README that comes with
the tarball of binaries.  Anyone have any ideas?  This is the latest
release of vnc
