Newbie with Keyboard Problems

I am connecting using VNC on a Novell network with Win 95/98 and Win NT
workstations. Once the connection is released some of the keyboard keys and
the numeric keys do not function as they should. I have read through
archives and found this problem in several places but unless I missed it I
saw no real solution. Can anyone point me to documentation or a fix for
this. I have read of keyboard mapping but could not find any info in the
documentation.
