Muddassar,
If you think about this you'll realise that it is nothing to do with VNC. VNC is
simply a modified X server; it's only concerned with the display side of
applications, and won't affect their underlying operation.
It sounds from your message as if you're running two copies of the Netscape mail
monitor; one under X, one under VNC? Netscape isn't very good at detecting new
mail at the best of times, and when you have two copies running on the same
machine, it's even more likely to get confused. Under many systems, the email
program simply checks whether you have had any new mail since you last asked. If
there are two programs asking at different times, one of them will probably get
the wrong answer. There are many different ways of detecting new email, and I
suggest you ask on the Netscape newsgroups before assuming it's a VNC problem!
All the best,
Quentin
