Exactly that is going to run on the server side and will connect the
Xvnc server to the standard I/O which in the dialup case is bound to
the serial connection... Also voted for a Perl thingy myself...

Ex-act-ly! Right now I mess around with the cerials (not having done
too much programming in DOS), and the BIOS/DOS serial stuff really
stinks... :- | (And yes to al of you who mentioned it: This is going
to be a 16-bit version which you said you would prefer... But again,
no tcp/ip...)

Thinking of only 9600 or even 2400 bps connection 'speed', such a
serial proxy will be a big speed improvement compared to PPP because
the lack of much overhead.... At least that's what I expect, as PPP
over 2400 or 9600 bps is a major drag.. :)

Enjoy your holiday, Ewan... :) And I would really like to hear/read
from you and your project, though I do not have a Psion... :)

Oliver
P.S.: The next thing I see to happen is a vncviewer port using serial
proxies for the good old Commodore 64 or the GameBoy... ;)
