Every once in a while, I get a bug report from a Debian user about this. I
added some configuration options to the vncserver script, which parses the
XF86Config file and takes the fontpath from there by default.
XFree86 X servers seem to ignore non-existing font directories in the path.
Could Xvnc do the same, please? I will add a check to the script for the
Debian package, but this should really be fixed in Xvnc. In addition, Xvnc's
error message is not very helpful.
Thank you,
Marcus
