VNC and XDM/KDM under Linux

Does this add some insecurity? If you 'login' to some system using VNC
in this way, then if you then stop using the vncviewer (link goes
down or the like), the next person who connects gets your 'already logged
in' session...

Is there some way to forse the session back to the XDM prompt when the
vncviewer connection ends?

Perhaps I am misunderstanding something here...
