Well.  This happened some time ago, and I must admit I was lazy in
that when I tried the Purple Shark viewer and it worked, I simply set
aside the ORL viewer and did not investigate the problem.

I've just re-installed the ORL viewer on my machine and cannot
reproduce the problem.  

I said it was `other software conflicts' - I had a feeling at the time
that one of my non-Apple extensions was to blame.  

I have also verified that the keyboard problems I reported are
identical - both the caps lock related one that Dair responded to, and
the other one where Alt (option) [A-Z] generate the wrong codes.

By the way, now I have tried the two side-by-side, I can confirm
comments by others (including Dair as I recall) that the ORL viewer
appears to update the window contents faster.
