Push vs Pull connections.........

i think this conversation/argument is getting bogged down in the words
"push" and "pull" and the myriad of definitions and marketing-speak
they involve. the original article, could (i think) be rephrased as:

there's probably an even better way to rephrase so there isn't
confusion between a server in terms of providing a virtual screen like
Xvnc does, and server as in the network service that sits and waits
for clients to connect ,which the viewer does in the hypothetical
situation above.
IMO, the request is valid, and would be a nice addition to the
functionality of VNC. for one thing, it would make dealing with
firewalls much easier when the display is behind a firewall (modulo
the arguments about how it's bad to subvert firewalls, modulo
encryption in VNC and/or the use of ssh).
