Problem

Let me start by saying: no offense to anyone involved is intended in =
what I am about to say.
Now,
I did not subscribe to this mailing list to hear this type of =
discussion at all. We all knew that this software had the "secret over =
your shoulder watching you" possibility. If you want to talk about how =
to do that, I don't think that the license that ORL has publicized =
controls how you use their software in this realm. If you ask questions =
about how to implement such a thing, I think our duty as netizens and =
list participants should be to either stay on topic and answer the =
question, or keep your mouth shut. Private messages are another thing =
entirely.

I subscribed to this list to find out the technical secrets for =
effecient and effective implementation of this great *FREE* software. I =
could go to any number of other areas on the Internet to discuss my =
views on ethics, morals, and "proper use" of things others have given =
away for free. If your goals are to discuss these types of issues I =
respectfully request that you please find another place to do it than =
this technical discussion list.

If you wish to respond to this "opinion" email of mine, please do so =
privately and not bother other people who probably don't care one whit =
about this subject.

Respectfully,

What an absolutely disgusting practice. Why don't you move around
the office, talk to people, find out what they're doing, and hold=20
frequent reviews to see if work is being done properly? If it is,
what's the problem?

How incredibly demeaning for your employees. There must be a real
feeling of warmth and trust between you and them.

How unreasonable of them. Perhaps they need some 're-education' by
the Ministry of Truth?

You're being stupid. Tell people they may be monitored for
"quality control" and leave it at that.=20

Their perception that, at any time, someone may be watching what=20
they're doing on their computer will be just as effective as=20
actually watching them.

While your employees will still be working in a terrible atmosphere,
at least you won't waste your time looking at people's computer=20
screens.

Of course, if you're doing this solely to get some sick=20
voyeuristic pleasure out of spying on your employees,..

Regards,
Nick
