First thing to check : re-install Service Pack 3 to ensure it's correctly
installed - if you add ANY system component after installing then you have
to re-install the Service Pack and sometimes even software installs
require this.

Hmmmm. Two situations I haven't extensively tested recently - viewing
through Java and running WinVNC as an application. I suspect the problem
is in the screen-saver disabling code, since that has caused problems in
the past. Is there any correllation between WinVNC locking up and the
screen-saver coming on on the NT box?
