_cbrt and compilation errors

I'm trying to compile Xvnc under Linux (1.2.13), and after a handful
of minor changes (which I didn't keep track of; sorry) to Makefiles
and Imakefiles to get gcc even to look at the .c files, it seems I'm
very close to getting a binary. But the command:

gcc -o Xvnc -O2 -fno-strength-reduce -m486 -L/usr/X11R6/lib\
dix/libdix.a os/libos.a ../../lib/font/libfont.a hw/vnc/libvnc.a\
../../../libvncauth/libvncauth.a mfb/libmfb.a cfb/libcfb.a\
cfb16/libcfb.a cfb32/libcfb.a mi/libmi.a Xext/libext.a\
-lXau -lXdmcp -lm -lXmu

gives me:

mi/libmi.a(miarc.o): Undefined symbol _cbrt referenced from text segment
mi/libmi.a(miarc.o): Undefined symbol _cbrt referenced from text segment

What's cbrt? Where might I get it?

Thanks.
