VNC licensing request: use in LGPL code

Hello,

I've started a reimplementation of a VNC server ("target") for the libGGI
<http://www.ggi-project.org>.  The first GGI implementation was a proof-of-
concept, but this time I want to make it fully functional.  I have looked at
the Unix source and wish to copy some of the ideas/code used there, as well
as the include file rfbproto.h and later libvncauth.  However this code is
currently GPL'd, which makes it impossible to use in libGGI which is LGPL'd. 
Therefore I request permission to use VNC code under LGPL from the authors
and contributors of VNC. I hope this isn't an unreasonable request...
