vncserver problems in redhat 5.1

Ok, I upgraded to rh5.1 from rh5.0, and now vnc wont work.  X.log has this error
when I run vncserver
Fatal server error:
Failed to establish all listening sockets
_X11TransSocketUNIXConnect: Can't connect: errno = 111
kcontrol: cannot connect to X server :1
Using old audio server with talk id 129

can someone tell me how to fix this? thanks
