Xvnc 3.3.2, SGI, XDM Redux

To recap, under IRIX 5.3, attempts to contact the local xdm with -query 
result in a fatal errror with "No valid address", when, previously to 
3.3.2, it always worked fine.

There's a little extra piece of info: Xvnc is also throwing out this error:

Getting interface configuration (4): Cannot assign requested address

Now, I've poked around a little (the list helps those who help themselves 
8-), and this appears to occur in programs/Xserver/os/access.c, when it 
tries to do a SIOCGIFCONF ioctl. Anybody got any pointers as to possible 
reasons this might fail?
