VNC Password (VNC Server + LDAP?)

Looking at the wider picture, how about removing the user authentication db
from VNC server and authenticating against an LDAP server?  (Here, we
synchronize the NTLM with LDAP, and soon NIS with LDAP.)  If VNC could
authenticate against an external LDAP server, then we could have single
synchronized password to VNC on any machine, anywhere, on any platform.
No more reconfiguring each VNC server by hand...   ooooooo.
