newbie VNC X-server setup problem?

To All:

	I scoured the mailing list archives and could not find anything related to
my error.
I installed vnc-3.3.2-2.i386.rpm on my Redhat 5.0 machine. 

	When I ran vncserver , the error that I received is: 

[root "at" tardis .vnc]# more tardis:1.log
Xvnc: error in loading shared libraries
: undefined symbol: __register_frame_info
[root "at" tardis .vnc]# more xstartup
#!/bin/sh

exec /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc &
[root "at" tardis .vnc]# 

What can I check or correct ? I have the required libraries on my system.
