Sufficiently inexpensive technology is indistinguishable
from... indestructible? :-)

I remember seeing ads of the time for the Tandy TRS-80, seriously
suggesting that it could be used for a kitchen recipe database.  (The
machine had 4K RAM, audio tape backup and a 12"(?) mono CRT.)
