I believe he's referring to the system's PATH environment variable. Go to
"Control Panel", open the "System" applet, then go to the "Environment" tab.

InstallShield isn't free software, so your friend's comment is misplaced. If
it was free software it would probably work better since users would be able
to look at the code and fix its many bugs. I have extensive experience with
InstallShield and will gladly affirm that its buggy as all get-out.

I've got ClearCase on an NT4SP3 system as well and have not had any problem
with VNC.

Welcome to Winblows NT. :-) Actually, there's nothing wrong with a GUI
install if its done well. RedHat's Glint GUI interface to RPM is quite nice.
