font path problem SOLVED

I should have checked the FAQ.html in the VNC page.
It gives two solutions to the font path problem for Linux xvnc server.
1) recompile the source with a patch,
decompress the fonts and run mkfontdir to rebuilt fonts.dir
2) run a font server (xfs) and modify the vncserver script
Hope people having a similar problem find this helpful.
