Umlauts öäü don't work

Hello again,
now, with the changes I just posted to the list, what still does not =
work with
the sources available, are the german umlauts (=F6=E4=FC). They did work =
with
the executable, though. But there, the shift and alt-gr-keys did not =
work,
which was a more difficult problem as these keys are more important=20
for maintenance purposes (in germany, the \ is created using the =
altgr-key).
